Whitstable Oyster Festival Association (WOFA)

WOFA is a group of volunteers who help organise the town’s annual Oyster Festival each September. With the support of our local festival partners (The Umbrella Event Company and the Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company) we put on a number of free community events including the Mud Tug, the Oyster Eating Competition, the Landing and Blessing of the oysters ceremony, the Grotter building and a number of other children’s events over the weekend.

The WOFA volunteers help put on the events and act as Festival guides for locals and visitors alike. If you would like to help out at the Festival, contact WOFA chair Mark Thomson.
