The Whitstable Society

Covering Whitstable from Yorkletts to Swalecliffe, the Whitstable Society works to preserve the town’s unique character and support sustainable development. As a charity, we support and set up local initiatives like The Favourite Trust and Friends of Westcliff Bank, and collaborate with groups like The Whitstable Improvement Trust and the Museum. Difficult choices arise between development and preservation – but by working together within the constraints, we strive to find the best solutions for our town’s future.

We help balance conservation with progress, helping Whitstable’s heritage and natural open space survive alongside modern life.
